This is a comeback for PFO closure!
This series comprised of 3 trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine that enrolled patients after stroke with PFO and either left-to-right shunt or atrial aneurysms. All 3 clinical trials showed the benefit of PFO closure on this patient population in comparison with antiplatelet therapy or anticoagulation.
